XIM Matrix in Saudi Arabia: What It Is and How to Set It Up With Your Controller

XIM Matrix is a small adapter that lets you play with a mouse and keyboard on PlayStation and Xbox as if you were holding the controller. It takes your mouse movement and turns it into controller input the console understands. The idea is simple — but how good your aim feels depends entirely on the setup, and that's where most people struggle.

This guide covers what you need before you start, the setup steps with the controller, how to tune sensitivity per game, and the most common problems and fixes.

What exactly does XIM Matrix do?

  • Turns mouse and keyboard into controller input: mouse movement becomes the right stick, and your keys map to controller buttons however you like.
  • Needs a controller connected to it: the console's own controller plugs into the XIM so the console recognises it — which is why you always hear "XIM setup with a controller".
  • Separate configs per game: every game aims differently, so you keep one config per game and switch easily.

What you need before you start

  • The XIM Matrix and its cable.
  • Your console's original controller (a DualSense for PS5, for example) with a USB cable that carries data — not a charge-only cable.
  • A wired mouse (ideally with adjustable DPI) and a keyboard.
  • A PC or phone with the XIM MATRIX Manager app for setup and updates.

Setup steps with the controller

  1. Update first: open XIM MATRIX Manager, connect the XIM and update it to the latest firmware. Most "the mouse doesn't move" problems end here.
  2. Connect the controller to the XIM by cable, in its dedicated port.
  3. Connect the mouse and keyboard to their ports on the XIM.
  4. Connect the XIM to the console via USB and turn the console on.
  5. Create a game config: pick the game in the app (if it has a ready config) or create a new one, and map the buttons to your taste.
  6. Test in the practice range: don't start in a match — try movement and aim in training and adjust before you play.

Sensitivity: the secret to the right feel

The most common mistake: high sensitivity in the game and low in the XIM, or the other way round — and aim ends up sluggish or jumpy. The general rule:

  • In the game: raise aim sensitivity to the highest value you can control, and set the deadzone as low as the game allows.
  • On the mouse: pick a mid DPI (for example 1600 or 3200) and stop changing it.
  • In the XIM: adjust sensitivity in the app in small steps and test after each change.
  • ADS is separate: most games treat hip-fire and aiming down sights differently — tune each one on its own.

Common problems and fixes

The console doesn't recognise the XIM

Usually the controller cable is charge-only, or the controller wasn't connected before the console started. Try another cable, connect the controller, then reconnect the XIM.

The mouse moves but buttons don't work

The button mapping in the current config is empty or different. Open the config in the app and check each button is mapped to the right action.

Aim was great, then suddenly changed

Usually a game update changed the controls or reset sensitivity. Check the game settings first, then update the XIM in the app.

Small stutter or lag

Plug the XIM straight into the console without a USB hub, and use a wired mouse and keyboard.

Want us to set it up?

If you'd rather skip the trial and error, we offer an XIM Matrix setup service with the controller: we tune it to your game and style, test it with you, and show you how to adjust it yourself later. The service costs SAR 150.

FAQ

Does XIM Matrix work on PlayStation and Xbox?

Yes — that's its main use: playing with mouse and keyboard on consoles, with the original controller connected to it.

Do I need a PC to use it?

You need a PC or phone for setup and updates through the app. Once it's set up, it works with the console directly.

Does every game need its own config?

Yes — every game has its own aim speed and curve. Keep one config per game and switch between them.

Does the setup service cover more than one game?

We agree the details with you before we start — message us the game or games you want.
